This card (on July 10, 2021) was highlighted by the trilogy fight between the “Notorious” Conor McGregor and Dustin “The Diamond” Poirier. The first two fights between McGregor and Poirier ended in knockouts with McGregor winning the first in 2014 and Poirier getting his revenge in January 2021. The trilogy fight ended in a gruesome McGregor leg injury after a back and forth first round. Sean O’Malley beat down newcomer Kris Moutinho but the bosses decided to hand them both $75k fight of the night bonuses along with performance of the night bonuses to Dricus Du Plessis and Tai Tuivasa. Notably left out of the bonuses was an exciting scrap between Michel Pereira and Niko Price. Hoping they took home some of those notorious “locker room bonuses”!
